In the last decade Michelle Mathias has lived in San Francisco, Vancouver, Paris, Santiago de Chile and Miami. She takes snap shots with her iPhone to use later as reference material for her paintings of people in urban settings.

Mathias graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with distinction in the Fine Arts program. Her public art project at the Heritage Mountain Community Centre in Port Moody features a giant raven mobile and a mosaic amphi-theatre, sidewalks & floors. She has been in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the US, France & Santiago. She is a people watcher & loves to paint them. Mathias speaks French, English and Spanish.
